Beliefs

I am a Christian: Those who call themselves Christians on this site believe the following

Jesus Christ is God and also a man, who really lived, really died on a cross roughly 32 AD, and really rose from the dead to walk the earth. He went back to heaven afterwards and sent His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to be present with us to partner in continuing to do what He was doing. Jesus was the beginning – not the apex, of a battle cry of freedom that has snowballed into the next two millennia.

There’s no point in following Jesus’ commands if there isn’t absolute truth and this is all relative. And so we believe there’s only one way to heaven, otherwise you’re going to hell. And God loves you and doesn’t want you to. That's why He was willing to make a BIG investment in each of you - the blood and suffering of His Son, to give YOU the opportunity to truly make it right.

We believe that the Jewish scriptures prophesied about a Messiah who would redeem them as a people. We believe Jesus was and IS that Messiah.

We believe all of this to be true because we believe both the Old Testament scriptures and the Christian New Testament scriptures of the Bible are the inspired and infallible Words of God. It tells the account in detail.

My Personal Statement:

I believe that I need Jesus/God to be everything I currently am and for everything, and if it were not for God’s desire for me, and His intervention and asserted control in my life on a continual basis – not just at my moment of conversion, that I would not be able to confidently call myself a Christian. I believe that I am not more highly favored than any other person in this, and I claim no promise in that, unique to me.

I believe Jesus is coming BACK to earth in what is popularly known as "The Second Coming". I believe it is not a distant theoretical promise, but one that is close and real with us. I believe it is the obligation of every Christian to realize that this is close to God's heart and the plans of His mind for unbelievers, and what HE has in mind for each of our destinies- both now in this life, and AFTER.

I believe that certain miraculous workings of the Holy Spirit known as “Gifts” are logically to be expected, and we should therefore dive deep into God’s will and seek communication with Him through all avenues that are exemplified in scripture.
